1972 Volvo 144S Manual
FOR SALE: 1972 Volvo 144S Manual
Not a Mercedes, but a fantastic classic Volvo!
This 53-year-old 1972 Volvo 144S manual is in very good, rust-free condition and is suitable for both everyday driving and long-distance use. It is very original and mechanically sound, with all paperwork in order and the license up to date.
The car is currently with the third owner, who purchased it from the estate of its second owner, the wife of the first owner. It comes with owner’s manuals and has only 165,000 km on the clock.
Features & Condition:
Good tyres, all electrics work
Period-correct sheepskin seat covers and rear window blinds
Dash is uncracked, and the roof lining is in excellent condition
Matching upholstery included to repair minor vinyl tears on the driver's seat
Rear lap belts installed
Electronic ignition upgrade (replacing the original points/condenser)
Full service done, including all fluids (engine, diff, gearbox)
The only minor issue is a slight rattle from the top of the right rear shock at low speeds. This has been present for some time, but it does not affect handling, and replacing the rear shocks would resolve it.
This usable classic has been garaged its whole life but is not a show car—if you look closely, you’ll find imperfections in the paintwork. However, it is a well-maintained, reliable classic.
Reason for Sale:
The car is being sold due to a lack of garage space. It is a reluctant sale, and there is no rush.
Location: Port Elizabeth / Gqeberha, Eastern Cape, South Africa
Delivery: Transport within South Africa can be arranged on behalf of the buyer
Price: R85,000 (Includes roadworthy and registration in your name)
